Katie is inspired by the opportunity to help achieve justice for real people. She is analytical and dedicated to finding solutions to difficult legal questions. Her work ethic and steadfast commitment are qualities that shine through in every facet of her work.
Katie’s practice focuses on class actions. She also works with Indigenous nations in relation to matters involving Aboriginal and Treaty rights.
Before starting at CFM, Katie clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal and for Justice Karakatsanis at the Supreme Court of Canada. She often works on appeals and enjoys the challenge of presenting arguments on complicated legal issues in a persuasive and logical way.
Katie currently volunteers with Access Pro Bono. She previously participated in the Canadian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers International Program, where she worked at a legal NGO in South Africa. There, she helped refugees navigate the asylum process and assisted with the organization’s strategic litigation.
Outside of the office, Katie loves to spend time with her family exploring nature in settings near and far.
