Jen practices primarily in the area of complex class action litigation and mass torts, with a focus on cases involving allegations of systemic negligence, product liability, and Charter breaches. Jen joined CFM in 2010 as an articling student and continued with the firm as an associate and is now a partner. She has represented clients before the superior and appellate courts of British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario, the superior courts of Saskatchewan and Quebec, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Recognizing that for many people the legal system can be challenging and expensive, or in some cases inaccessible, Jen aims to bridge that gap by representing those who have suffered harm but do not have the resources to pursue justice and accountability.
Jen’s commitment to human rights and access to justice has spanned her career. Prior to joining CFM, she worked at a non-governmental organization in Thailand and Cambodia on community legal education initiatives focused on children’s and prisoners’ rights, and a non-governmental organization in South Africa, helping refugees navigate the asylum claims process.
Jen earned her undergraduate degree at Columbia University, where she studied international relations and comparative politics. Jen went on to study law at the University of British Columbia.
In her spare time, Jen enjoys hiking, yoga and snowboarding.
