Sharon Matthews appointed Queen’s Counsel

The firm is very proud to congratulate Sharon Matthews on her appointment to Queen’s Counsel. QC designations are conferred by the Attorney General and the Minister of Justice in recognition of integrity, exceptional merit and contribution. These qualities describe Sharon to a tee. Sharon has been recognized by her peers not only for her accomplishments in her litigation practice but also for the time and energy she has devoted to improving access to justice. Further, she is well respected for her contributions to the growth and development of the profession with the Canadian Bar Association both provincially and nationally. Sharon is a three time recipient of the CBABC President’s Medal and a UBC Law Alumni Association Outstanding Young Alumna. Among other things, she volunteers as a roster lawyer for Access Pro Bono and frequently speaks at CPD events for the CBABC, CLE, the TLABC and Osgoode Professional Development. Most recently Sharon served as president of the CBABC for the 2011-2012 term.
