The Plaintiffs allege that the Defendants manufactured, marketed, distributed and sold PFAS and products that contain PFAS . The Plaintiffs allege that the Defendants continued to sell and receive ongoing profits from PFAS, while making misrepresentations and concealing internal evidence regarding their toxicity.
When PFAS are released, they quickly migrate from soil to surface water and groundwater. PFAS also enter drinking water supplies. These chemicals cause damage at each level of the food chain, building up in plants, fish, wildlife, and eventually humans.
The purpose of this proposed class proceeding is to recover from the defendants the cost of remediating contaminated Water Resources.
(PFAS are present in many nonstick products, food packaging, household products, personal care products, paints, fabrics, and more. They are also the main ingredient in many firefighting foams used on military bases and at commercial airports.)
