At CFM our lawyers act on behalf of plaintiffs in product liability, class action, aviation and cases. We are a small but specialized firm that is facing selective and sustained growth. The litigation cases at CFM are interesting and complex.
The mark of a great workplace is great people. At CFM Lawyers we pride ourselves on working a little differently and turning our focus toward what matters most to us: the people we work for and work with.
We take our work seriously and have built a tight-knit team of people who are collaborative, progressive and open-minded. Our team values mentorship and consensus building as essential tools for the workplace. Organization and collaboration are key as our lawyers manage a high case load with many moving parts and strict deadlines. We also make sure to take time to connect and de-stress with a lightly competitive ping pong game or a game of fetch with one of our many office dogs.
We are looking for a high performing “best in class” individual with strong analytical and legal assistant skills. The LAA will take a lead role as support to one of the firm’s partners, as well as working very closely with paralegals and others in the administrative group. They must have a pleasant and calm disposition (especially under pressure) with the keen ability to anticipate and proactively interpret the needs of the firm’s associates.
The successful individual will demonstrate a keen interest in collaborating with the lawyers in the details of these cases. You will become an integral part of the litigation team. Our work occasionally involves a high level of stress while organizing and maintaining multiple cases.
Ideally we would like an intermediate to senior level LAA (4+ years) with litigation experience. But we recognize that expertise cannot be measured solely by time spent mastering your skills so if you are a bright, forward thinking, problem solving, initiative taking junior, please apply for this position. Tell me why you would excel in this role. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

We are looking for someone special to be the first person to talk to or greet our clients, colleagues and suppliers. Do you carefully maintain confidentiality as well as have a strong attention to detail? Do people consider you patient and diplomatic? We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and generally enjoys helping people. This vital role is a full-time temporary position to cover maternity leave for a minimum period of 12 months. When applying, please reference job posting #202101REC01.

COVID-19 has drastically changed the nature of the workplace. At CFM Lawyers we have adapted to the new normal and prioritized the safety of our employees, while ensuring both employee and client needs are being met. Our staff is fully set up to work remotely and we are currently operating on a rotating schedule with approximately 50% of our employees in the office at a time. In the office we have implemented COVID-19 protocols that are diligently followed by our staff. We are a group that loves to connect with each other, so we have set up various virtual avenues to ensure we are able to communicate effectively and efficiently (we also have a fun virtual happy hour here and there!).
