About Us

At CFM our lawyers act on behalf of plaintiffs in product liability, class action, aviation and cases. We are a small but specialized firm that is facing selective and sustained growth. The litigation cases at CFM are interesting and complex.

Why Work at CFM Lawyers?

The mark of a great workplace is great people. At CFM Lawyers we pride ourselves on working a little differently and turning our focus toward what matters most to us: the people we work for and work with.

We take our work seriously and have built a tight-knit team of people who are collaborative, progressive and open-minded. Our team values mentorship and consensus building as essential tools for the workplace. Organization and collaboration are key as our lawyers manage a high case load with many moving parts and strict deadlines. We also make sure to take time to connect and de-stress with a lightly competitive ping pong game or a game of fetch with one of our many office dogs.

Legal Administrative Assistant

Are you looking for a new position with flexibility and variety? We are looking for a high performing individual with strong analytical skills. You will take a lead role as support to one of the firm’s partners, as well as working very closely with paralegals and others in the close knit administrative group. You must have a pleasant and calm disposition (especially under pressure) with the keen ability to anticipate and proactively interpret the needs of the firm’s associates.

The successful individual will demonstrate a keen interest in collaborating with the lawyers in the details of these cases. You will become an integral part of the litigation team. Our work occasionally involves a high level of stress while organizing and maintaining multiple cases.

  • Legal Administrative Assistant certificate from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience)
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of legal procedures
  • Able to take initiative, exercise professional judgment and solve problems
  • Able to work independently
  • Great attention to detail
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Advanced Computer Literacy

Ideally we would like an intermediate to senior level LAA (4+ years) with litigation experience. But we recognize that expertise cannot be measured solely by time spent mastering your skills so if you are a bright, forward thinking, problem solving, initiative taking junior, please apply for this position.  Tell me why you would excel in this role. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Please forward a copy of your resume and a cover letter referencing the job posting #202201LAA01, to the attention of Sunita March ([email protected]), Executive Director. We thank all applicants for their interest in this position however, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Document Reviewers

We have over 100 years of collective experience representing clients in large, complex litigation files often with multi-jurisdictional features. We are working on a large document review project for a class action involving commercial and competition law. The candidate should ideally have a background in business or economics either by way of undergraduate training or work experience as the documents are internal business records from some very large companies.

We expect this job may take approximately 3 months for a group who will be working almost full time hours. If you are interested in this role, please send us your resume and a cover letter stating why this position will be a good fit for you. Please submit these documents via our email address ([email protected]).

Other Positions

We are not currently recruiting for any other positions. We encourage you to submit your resume if you feel you might be a good fit for our firm for future vacancies. Please email a cover letter and resume to the attention of Sunita March, Executive Director ([email protected]).
