Katie joined CFM in October 2017 after clerking at the Supreme Court of Canada for Justice Andromache Karakatsanis. Previously, she served as a law clerk to the Alberta Court of Appeal and articled with a large national firm.
Katie graduated from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2014. During law school, she was the recipient of a number of awards and prizes, including the Ann Roberts Humanitarian Award. She is the author of several articles published in the law journals Appeal: Review of Current Law and Law Reform and the Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues. Katie is also a past participant of the Canadian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers International Program, where she worked with a legal NGO in South Africa. There, she helped refugees navigate the asylum process and assisted with the organization’s strategic litigation.
Her non-legal interests include spending time with her Israeli rescue dog, riding horses and hiking.
